Moraira is around 20 minutes south of Javea and started life as a small fishing village and has grown over the years but still retains it´s village feel. The town is based around a pretty marina with small streets heading in to the centre of town and it´s square with a selection of bars and restaurants. There is the main sandy beach which boasts soft sand and a gentle slope out in to the water.
As well as the main beach there is the El Portet beach which is extremely picturesque, a true Mediterranean gem, with it´s luxury villas perched on the waters edge. There are also lots of small coves along the coast that are great for snorkelling and scuba diving.
Moraira has a large British population, along with Dutch and other nationalities enjoying this fantastic spot on the Mediterranean. The town is relatively small with a few apartment blocks, most of the accommodation is villas in the hills looking out over the town and many with sea views. It is a peaceful winter get away that comes alive in the summer with visitors enjoying its narrow streets full of boutique shops and quality restaurants. It is an upmarket resort favoured by couples, families and retirees.
Moraira has it´s fair share of fiestas and the Moors and Christians parade is one of the best along the coast. During the Moors and Christians parade there is the well supported Moraira Music festival an evening of live music on large stage free for everyone to enjoy.
Moraira is the perfect town for peaceful all year living or a holiday home to enjoy throughout the year.
